Great Shop! The level of service was outstanding. They provide samples, and if it's your first visit, they'll let you sample some of their best-known flavors and offer advice. The employees were all very amiable! Regarding the ice cream, it has an extremely smooth and quickly melting consistency. My personal taste may be for a somewhat firmer ice cream, but that's just me. They also provide a plethora of unusual flavors, such as a May pumpkin special. The jasmine and taro/ube were delicious. Their most well-known items are the saffron and pistachio with rose.
Heard about this place recommended by everyone. Good service there's usually a line. The workers let you try out whichever flavors. It was very creamy and floral flavored. I want to give five stars but the flavor was sometime too overpowering for me even when I got cookies n cream which I had wish there were non floral options. There is seating inside but when I went it was all taken. I would definitely recommend it if you like the floral taste and should try it if in the area.
Yummy ice cream!! My dad is an ice cream fiend and came two nights in a row while visiting because the caramel crunch was so good. I got the vegan saffron and vegan lavender- both were lovely. $5.50 for two scoops- pretty good price nowadays for how good the ice cream is. Nice outdoor seating but only two tables so if it's busy might not be available. Took about 10 min for all of us to get our ice cream because they stay busy!
Just started a new job in the area and when I saw Saffron & Rose, I knew I had to try it. For just $5.50, it gets you two scoops which I chose saffron and pistachio and fig and cranberry. Wow, the texture is really creamy and thick which I love and not too sweet which is a major plus. I think next time I will only do Saffron and pistachio as that is just a superb flavor and hard to come by! Does get busy with limited indoor and outdoor seating.
It was my cheat day, and I was craving ice cream. I'm thrilled to have stumbled upon Saffron & Rose Persian Ice Cream! Service: The service here couldn't have been more hospitable! The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The owner, who happened to be there, asked if it was my first visit. When I said yes, he immediately offered me samples of the three most popular flavors. He then followed up with samples of his three personal favorites, which I ultimately chose. I also appreciated how patient and caring he was while training a new employee. Regular customers seemed to know him well, and he took the time to chat with everyone. Vibe: The shop is small and simple, but it has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home. It's clear that not much decoration is needed when the focus is on such fantastic ice cream. Ice Cream: I tried the three most popular flavors: Saffron Pistachio, Pink Rose, and Cucumber. However, I ended up choosing Passionfruit, Taro & Ube, and Amazing Almond. Here's my take on them: - Passionfruit: Refreshing and not overly sweet. - Taro & Ube: A perfect blend of two root vegetables with just the right amount of sweetness. - Amazing Almond: Packed with almonds, simple yet incredibly delicious. While enjoying my ice cream, I noticed bottles of juice by the napkins and spoons. When I asked about them, the owner enthusiastically introduced me to a Persian specialty called "Faloodeh" - a rosewater-flavored ice with crunchy wheat-based noodles. You add fresh lemon juice and cherry juice to it, then mix it up. It was super interesting and delicious. All in all, I will definitely be back. If you're in the area, you should check them out!
I've heard amazing things about Saffron & Rose, apparently a must-try in Westwood. Service was exceptional. They do samples, and if it's your first time, they'll let you try their most famous flavors + give recommendations. Everyone working there was super friendly! The line got pretty long close to 9:30pm until closing on a Saturday night + all seats were full. As for the ice cream - the consistency is super creamy/fast-melting. I think I like my ice cream a bit more solid, but that's just my preference. They also have so many unique flavors, like a May pumpkin special. I enjoyed the jasmine and taro/ube. The rose and saffron w/ pistachio are their famous ones. Would come back to try more flavors!
The perfect little night cap to a day of exploring! I was craving ice cream so I headed over to Saffron and Rose. Got here right before closing at about 10:45pm on a Saturday and it was busy. But it makes sense. It's near UCLA and there were a few college kids hanging out. The great thing about this ice cream shop is all the interesting flavors: cucumber, rose, Nutella, Passion fruit, etc. I got to try a few and was impressed with everything I tried. I finally settled on Taro/ube and a scoop of cucumber. Both were delicious but if I had to try again, I'd swap out the cucumber for something else. Oh well, it just gives me a great excuse to come back and try more options. A nice little treat before bed. I'll definitely be back to try something else delicious.
First time here. Service was friendly. Nice selection of flavors. I came to try the saffron & pistachio. The small comes with two scoops for $5.50. The ice cream was very thick but tasty.
Absolutely one of the best ice cream in town. Persian ice cream with some amazing flavors! Saffron pistachio: traditional flavor and a delight to eat! Flavors and fresh and refreshing. Grade A Falloudah - rose water with tapioca stripes. Ask for the sides of cherry sauce and lemon juice. Traditional delight! Grade A+ Orange Blossom - another traditional flavor made well. Floral hints with a refreshing profile. Grade: A
Saffron & Rose is a small ice cream shop with Persian inspired flavors located on the corner of Williams Ave. and Westwood Blvd. They serve many different exotic flavors that one will not find at most ice cream shops. There are a few inside tables and two outside for sitting and enjoying their delicious ice cream. The ice cream is sold by the scoop or pre-packaged containers. The dude behind the counter was very cordial and invited us to sample as many flavors as we wish to try. We decided on their 4-scoop cup. We chose the White Rose, Caramel Crunch, Cucumber, and Orange Blossom varieties. All were creamy and extremely delicious. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I would definitely recommend them!
